A few years ago I found a Fischer pool table that had been sitting under a cover untouched for over fifty years. The owner offered it to me with the original balls and cues still in tact. The table itself is in excellent condition and only played on by myself for a short time before relocating to a house too small to accommodate the table. A solid 1' slate base with a stamp of Italy on it and the table also has a registration number and serial number plate on the front. Aluminium corner covers and side trim and white diamond shapes on the top edges and auto ball return. I started to research the original manufacturer but discovered records had been destroyed some time after the sale of Fischer pool tables to Spalding/AMF ?.
Is there anyone out there that can give me some idea of the true age and estimated value if any of my table.Due to unfortunate circumstances i am prepared to sell, But only to a genuine lover of such items.MAKE AN OFFER. Will supply photos via e mail to interested parties.
I'm moving this to the classifieds section. Nice find though, these tables probably don't pop up every day. This is hard to price at the moment as there have really been no public sales or auctions for this brand and age of pool table.
I saw a similar, pre - Fischer Co. Sale table sell (for sale) in Wisconsin earlier this year for $750. I'm not sure if it sold.
Older model Fischer pool table for sale in central WI. It is a bar size table with 3/4 inch 1 piece slate in good condition. It comes with a set of balls, rack, some older sticks( little value, but good for the kids!) and a nice wall rack for cues and balls(rack sells for $150.00 new). This is a commercial style table with counters on the rail and no ball return. Cloth is in good usable condition. Located near Mauston, WI. You HAUL! email me at [email protected] for more details. Price is $750.00 cash.
I had one about 25 years ago and sold it then for $400. 1 piece slate, and if I remember correctly it was an 8 footer. But it was made as a pay table. Played really well.
do you still have this available , are you in Ontario ?
please email [email protected]
Locate the manufacturer's information. The company's name is typically inscribed on a metal plaque or plastic panel located on one or more sides of the table. If your table has a ball-return slot, the plaque or panel tends to be fastened near it.
Measure the dimensions of the table with a tape measure. Note the length, width and height of the table as well as the number of legs.
Record other details about the table. If you know when the table was purchased new or originally manufactured, take note of the year. Also note the type of pockets (leather or rubber), darkness of finish (black stain to natural wood stain), surface type (slate, wood or other) and color of surface felt.
Consult a local billiards and pool table dealer. If they are familiar with old makes, they may be able to suggest a reasonable resale price for your table. Antique shops are also an option. Most shop owners are versed in many types of old goods, pool tables included.
Appraise your table using online resources. Many websites offer free or inexpensive appraisal services. You may also search online auctions or local classified listing sites to see how much is being asked for tables similar to yours. These figures will help you approximate your table's value.

The value can range from $500 to $5000. The average 1 inch slatequality table from Brunswick, Gandy, and similar good names sellsfor $1000-$1500 whether it is from 1950 or 1990.
That answer is subjective. The best value is actually a used table. The cheapest that can be purchased often means poor installation - that results in low value although cheap. A good value 8 foot table is 1 inch slate and is put together by a pool table professional. Any pool table supplier, as opposed to Target, WalMart, Sears, etc. can provide an overall better value. The brand is not as important as the installation. Read More
